Strong Focus and Advocacy Towards Women’s Business

Adriana GardellaOur #FollowFriday-worthy recommendation this week is Adriana Gardella, a blogger for the New York Times on women and entrepreneurship, She Owns It (You’re the Boss) section. Last year, “She Owns It” was introduced to highlight the challenges and successes of entrepreneurial women in many different stages in their own businesses.

You're the Boss - New York Times

“She Owns It” is special, because Adriana’s main goal is to focus on sources of information, inspiration and networking opportunities for women who run their own companies. She wants to help women reach their business goals, whether it means getting financing, earning a spot for one’s consumer product on the shelves of major retailers, being boss and even discussing the woes of an employer.

Adriana has been a senior editor for Fortune Small Business, a contributing editor for Success magazine, and a columnist covering management and career issues for CBS Interactive.

She began her career as a lawyer, and has provided news and legal commentary on CNN and MSNBC. You can’t find a better advocate for women who have always struggled for equality in the business arena.

Adriana strives to provide a forum in which business owners can connect with each other. She’s always open connecting and is always engaging with women entrepreneurs to develop stories that will be most important to her focused readers.

We recently connected with Adriana and asked her to fill in the blanks.  While she was able to share her thoughts on most of them, the first one seemed to leave her speechless:

Laughs at: ….?

Hopes: to one day figure out window treatments

Thinks: too much

Reveals: as little as possible online

Dream Coffee Date: it’s all about the coffee

Is Inspired By: some of the people I’ve written about, from Rwandan entrepreneurs to WWII veterans.
