This week our #FollowFriday recommendation is Second Act Magazine. This is a unique website, which focuses on what every 40+ person goes through as they get into the second half of their lives.

Be it business, personal, finance or simply lifestyle issues, Second Act serves up a wealth of information beneficial to anyone who is reinventing their lives today.

Life’s cycle will always make you think of reinventing yourself as you reach the cusp of 40-something. Suddenly you are looking back at what you have done and start to wonder what you are about to do for the next half of your life.

Second Act reminds us that life can be just as exciting and fulfilling after 40 than before. I’m reminded of my 92-year-old grandmother, who has been an entrepreneur most of her life, still walks to and works at her office every single day. Even at her age, she continues to initiate new business ventures that will expand her little empire – not a moment without full gusto.

Dream Coffee Date: That would be on Martha’s Vineyard with Carly Simon, who is as dynamic and brilliant as ever at age 65.

Is Inspired By: My Dad, who retired to a tropical island and found his dream job as a wildlife warden in Florida’s 10,000 islands. He went to work every morning in his boat and savored life (and nature) every single day.

Donna recently published her latest book, Santa Barbara and California’s Central Coast, an Explorer’s Guide, published in January 2011.
