The Gift of Happiness Contest

With US Thanksgiving having just passed and Christmas around the corner, I’ve been thinking a lot about what I have to be grateful for. And when I think about all the things that I’ve been blessed to have (the best of which is my wonderful family), I feel quite happy with my life.

This is probably one of the reasons that I was drawn to Gretchen Rubin’s The Happiness Project. I’m not sure about you, but being happy is something that I continually work at to achieve. I find that happiness is the ultimate paradox: it can be found in the simplest things, but at the same time it can be incredibly hard to find.

In her book, Rubin tests out different happiness theories to see which ones really work and which don’t. It is definitely an amazing read. Rubin has even created a fantastic website that helps you discover your own happiness project and ways to implement it.

One of my clients, Matilda Jane Clothing, believes that happiness is best kept by being given away, so when they decided to do a contest that gives “The Gift of Happiness” you can only imagine how thrilled I was to help spread the love!

Contest Details

I will be giving away a copy of The Happiness Project as well as 3 lovely outfits from Matilda Jane Clothing. That’s one for you (pick one closest to your child’s size or just the one you like the best) and two that you have to share with friends! Please note there will be no requests for styles or sizes, and the clothes are not returnable or exchangeable.

To enter, you only have to do two things:

  1. Sign up for Matilda Jane’s newsletter
  2. Leave a comment on this post telling me about something that makes you happy (yes, even that first cup of coffee in the morning counts!)

Contest closes on Wednesday, December 7th. I’ll be choosing the winner via Random.org. Please make sure you check in on December 8 to cheer on the winner!

Good luck everyone and I can’t wait to hear what makes you happy!

All of the family sitting on top of each other on the love seat rather than anyone sitting alone in one of the oversize chairs. We all squish in and even though someone always thinks they don’t have their fair share of space, no one ever sits anywhere else. This makes me happy.

I am thankful for the life God has blessed me with, not perfect but perfectly imperfect. I have just had my son, which was a miracle considering I developed and liver-related condition ontop of my kidney disease and he survived that only arriving 4 weeks early! I am blessed to see his beautiful face alongside my 4 other children. I strive to remind myself to be thankful for what I have been given the opportunity to partake in with my children…you’re very right, happiness is often something we teaching/remind ourselves to be:) I have love and life and am thankful for so much…for just being here to breath & enjoy my babies.

One thing that makes me gush with happiness is seeing my 19 month old baby girl help give her 8 year old multihandicapped brother a bath or pat his back to keep him happy and make him smile. That’s true love from the heart and nothing could make me happier!
