With US Thanksgiving having just passed and Christmas around the corner, I’ve been thinking a lot about what I have to be grateful for. And when I think about all the things that I’ve been blessed to have (the best of which is my wonderful family), I feel quite happy with my life.
This is probably one of the reasons that I was drawn to Gretchen Rubin’s The Happiness Project. I’m not sure about you, but being happy is something that I continually work at to achieve. I find that happiness is the ultimate paradox: it can be found in the simplest things, but at the same time it can be incredibly hard to find.
In her book, Rubin tests out different happiness theories to see which ones really work and which don’t. It is definitely an amazing read. Rubin has even created a fantastic website that helps you discover your own happiness project and ways to implement it.
One of my clients, Matilda Jane Clothing, believes that happiness is best kept by being given away, so when they decided to do a contest that gives “The Gift of Happiness” you can only imagine how thrilled I was to help spread the love!
Contest Details
I will be giving away a copy of The Happiness Project as well as 3 lovely outfits from Matilda Jane Clothing. That’s one for you (pick one closest to your child’s size or just the one you like the best) and two that you have to share with friends! Please note there will be no requests for styles or sizes, and the clothes are not returnable or exchangeable.
To enter, you only have to do two things:
- Sign up for Matilda Jane’s newsletter
- Leave a comment on this post telling me about something that makes you happy (yes, even that first cup of coffee in the morning counts!)
Contest closes on Wednesday, December 7th. I’ll be choosing the winner via Random.org. Please make sure you check in on December 8 to cheer on the winner!
Good luck everyone and I can’t wait to hear what makes you happy!

Hi…
After read this post I just want to tell you one thing that Happiness is the only key to make positive attitude and thinking…
Thanks for making me emotional and think about the fact which I forget for sometime…
I am an asian living in the US and has been living happily in California for the past 7 years. Recently, my country was struck by a big typhoon that left my relatives with no homes, appliances and basic necessities. All they had were there clothes that were with time when the calamity struck. Upon learning what happened, I gathered my friends here and requested that they help my drive a campaign that would raise money for the victims. When I came home with the donations, it struck me to see my people in bad shape that I vowed to help them recover. Up until now when I see their eyes full of hope, it really puts a smile on my face…I guess that is happiness…and tears..
I was very impressed and felt had to get a valuable experience after reading your article. Great information here! and the comments from people with other suggestions are all a wealth of information. Thank you!
I think that this is very interesting
