Why @JesusDiaz at @Gizmodo is #FollowFriday Worthy

King of Refreshing Posts & Unadulterated Commentary

Our #FollowFriday Worthy recommendation this week is Jesus Diaz, senior contributing editor and art director for Gizmodo. I came across Jesus one day when I wanted to see what gadgets Gizmodo was featuring.  Since then, whenever I needed a dose of something new and out-of-the-box (which is often), I would look in on what Jesus is posting.

Jesus is fearless with his ideas, thoughts and surely, his in-your-face approach which always leads to whetting your appetite for more edgy reading. Whether on Gizmodo or on Twitter, you will find Jesus’ posts a spicy treat for thought and surely a remedy for the bored spirit.  And if you are an electronic gadget freak, Jesus and his band of gadget gawking writers will always have something to check out on Gizmodo.

Jesus admits that he is in it for the fun and to grab more eyeballs than God.  He attests to the fact that he is the oldest guy there – the ‘lone wolf at Gizmodo, as in they let me do whatever I want…”  Well, he doesn’t sound like the oldest one there – he actually sounds pretty hip to me because of his no holds barred commentary and interesting posts.

Obvious to Jesus’ playful nature, we caught him the other day and he shared a few tidbits about himself.

Here’s his take on our questionnaire:

Laughs at: Myself and everything else.

Hopes: That there’s some major technological breakthrough that saves humanity from self-destruction.

Thinks: Too little. Mostly acts, dances and jumps.

Reveals: I watch Casablanca and Singin’ In the Rain every year, because they make me happy. Also, I thought the lost iPhone 4 was a Steve Jobs’ prank till he called asking for it back. A little.

Dream Coffee Date: Already had it. It was great, but I can’t tell.

Is Inspired By: My father, my mother, my brothers and sister, my dearest friends. Sometimes the shapes jam makes on my toast. Cheese. Art.

A note to PR professionals: Jesus jokes and expresses that he likes it when PR people tell him that PR people are afraid of him which may earn him a bad person reputation. But contrary to this statement, I found him engaging and easy to work with. (He also says that people say that he is very nice and sweet in person.)

Get on the light and witty end of things today…
